Life in Transition: The Universe of Brigit Markz
Book 2 of the Brigit Markz Trilogy
A few years have passed, and Brigit has settled nicely into the universe. She misses her family and the other members of the settlement, but soon Ramona will be on the collection, which is good. A military department is assigned with creating a very high-resolution map of the Earth and is about to map the community’s location. That could destroy the lives of nearly 500 members of the settlement and disrupt the existence of everyone in and outside of the community.
Brigit’s first husband, Brad, who was killed in a bear attack, returns to tell her about the mapping and the security of the Hill Life community. Do they protect the community from those in the universe or allow the community to join the universe and learn about life outside the Hill Life community?

Seriously, the hardest thing for someone to teach a new Scout when cooking is a stove, or the fire, or on charcoal for that matter is that there are a lot more levels of heat than OFF and MAX. Cooking over low or medium heat is better and safer for the meal in some respects than cooking on a blast furnace. It saves propane too! Plan for the extra time, you will be rewarded when you eat. Don’t get me wrong, there are times that a blazing hot surface is what is needed; the steak to get that perfect seer for example. So pick this up and bring it to your next troop meeting. Let the Scouts look it over and see if there is anything they would like to try out for the first time. You, AND THEY, will be surprised as to how easy and how good some of these recipes really are, especially in the woods!!
PURCHASEA thru-hike is a very long-distance hike. For example, the Appalachian Trail runs from Georgia to Maine to the tune of about 2,100 miles. Starting at one end and walking to the other is called a Thru-Hike. So, doesn’t it make sense to use hikers to perform a planetary survey on a new planet? The hikers can survey, inspect, learn, and report what they find — contracted for one planetary year. They experience something new, something extraordinary. The result is an insight into this new world and the ability to quickly create a viable colony while allowing the planet to flourish. While hiking, some of the contracted hikers develop new skills, and these advanced or enhanced, humans become a part of this new world, and the world has become a part of them. They have a connection to the planet, the creatures. It is not this group who needs to be watched, but it is their children, for they are the future of humanity.
PURCHASEI have always been fascinated by the Star Trek: Voyager episode, The 37s. This is where they initially find a 1936 Ford pickup truck floating in space. The gas and the rust create breadcrumbs to the planet, where they find a propeller airplane emitting an S-O-S. They figure out where it came from and find people in a cold sleep, suspended animation. One of them is Amelia Earhart. We all know Voyager made it home with the assistance of a time traveling Admiral Janeway, but the development of the Quantum Slipstream drive took a few more decades. Now that it is installed in the USS Voyager-A, Admiral Janeway takes it back where her adventure began, the Alpha quadrant. Along the way she meets up with the Kazon, and stops to visit with Nelix and the Talaxian colony. But ultimately, her goal is to make it to that planet, the planet with her friend, Amelia Earhart. Join the crew of Voyager-A, old and new, on this journey into their history, their journey into their future.
Book 3 of the Archive Series. In several places on the Earth, the orbital facilities, the Lunar Colonies, and the far-reaching corners of the human-populated universe, Christianity is beginning to grow and spread. The world government is concerned it may overshadow their power, or their ability to lead the people into their vision of what the future needs to look like. Benjamin is tasked to determine the threat level of this new group and he and his team of one is sent back to a place where the movement begins. Is this movement mind-altering or simple brainwashing? Do Christians want to control everything? Is there a reason to fear Christians or all religions in general? This is what he is tasked to learn, and fix, if necessary. On the way, he discovers a unique reality and brings that information back to his boss at Archive Island, in the form of a very interesting, honest, and convincing report. Enveloped within this decision are his new wife and his best friend throughout all of the time. Come and be with him as he explores his heart and his mind. The scientist needs to understand the definition of faith, and faith can be elusive.

PURCHASEThe series ended prematurely, I had a problem with that so I fixed it by writing the next episode that spans many years in the life of the colony. Marriage, birth, death, friends become enemies and enemies become friends.
Book 6 of the Archive Series. Benjamin Jensen is still the Director of the Island Complex. It has been a bit more than 30 years. With the unexpected death of someone close, the Island is turned on its ear. Recalling several people close, the memorial service is brief but the grieving is deep.
