I have always been fascinated by the Star Trek: Voyager episode, The 37s. This is where they initially find a 1936 Ford pickup truck floating in space. The gas and the rust create breadcrumbs to the planet, where they find a propeller airplane emitting an S-O-S. They figure out where it came from and find people in a cold sleep, suspended animation. One of them is Amelia Earhart. We all know Voyager made it home with the assistance of a time traveling Admiral Janeway, but the development of the Quantum Slipstream drive took a few more decades. Now that it is installed in the USS Voyager-A, Admiral Janeway takes it back where her adventure began, the Delta quadrant. Along the way she meets up with the Kazon, and stops to visit with Nelix and the Talaxian colony. But ultimately, her goal is to make it to that planet, the planet with her friend, Amelia Earhart. Join the crew of Voyager-A, old and new, on this journey into their history, their journey into their future.
Book 2 of the Brigit Markz Trilogy A few years have passed, and Brigit has settled nicely into the universe. She misses her family and the other members of the settlement, but soon Ramona will be on the collection, which is good. A military department is assigned with creating a very high-resolution map of the Earth and is about to map the community's location. That could destroy the lives of nearly 500 members of the settlement and disrupt the existence of everyone in and outside of the community. Brigit's first husband, Brad, who was killed in a bear attack, returns to tell her about the mapping and the security of the Hill Life community. Do they protect the community from those in the universe or allow the community to join the universe and learn about life outside the Hill Life community?
PURCHASEFor the past three decades, Chris Cancilla has been putting his thoughts on paper. For fun, for controversy, and education. Collected in this book are a selection of stories, longer and not so long, that allow you to peer into the mind of this very interesting author. Give the collection a chance, read it in order, your order. It makes no difference as each chapter is a unique story or topic. but above all, have fun reading.
PURCHASEWith the inception and construction of the colony ships, humanity is spreading out to the stars. The first colony is destined for Proxima Centauri, a mere four lightyears, or 30 years of travel time. The stasis tubes ensure the occupants will sleep during this travel and wake up in time to see their new home, land, and build a colony. Most of the three ships make it to their new home as scheduled, but the third ship, COLONY 3, is missing. Somewhere in the universe, they are off course, or worse. There are factions in their new space who want nothing more than destroy them; how will they survive?
PURCHASEBook 3 of the Archive Series. In several places on the Earth, the orbital facilities, the Lunar Colonies, and the far-reaching corners of the human-populated universe, Christianity is beginning to grow and spread. The world government is concerned it may overshadow their power, or their ability to lead the people into their vision of what the future needs to look like. Benjamin is tasked to determine the threat level of this new group and he and his team of one is sent back to a place where the movement begins. Is this movement mind-altering or simple brainwashing? Do Christians want to control everything? Is there a reason to fear Christians or all religions in general? This is what he is tasked to learn, and fix, if necessary. On the way, he discovers a unique reality and brings that information back to his boss at Archive Island, in the form of a very interesting, honest, and convincing report. Enveloped within this decision are his new wife and his best friend throughout all of the time. Come and be with him as he explores his heart and his mind. The scientist needs to understand the definition of faith, and faith can be elusive.
PURCHASEBook 2 of the Archive Series. Benjamin Jensen's best friend in all of time, Brad Jorgen, returns from a long-term research project with important news. Someone is traveling in time disrupting the time stream. Benjamin and Brad are tasked to repair and ensure it does not happen again. Afterward, the Archive Academy requests that the two of them teach a course in how to be inconspicuous when performing research, and how to improvise when things do not go as planned. The class is a hit, but there are a lot of bumps during the learning process. Including a covert trip to Pluto to reclaim a ship, they left on the once and former planet several thousands of years earlier, one they will need to use to revive a civilization that has been dead and forgotten to the passage of time for several millennia.
PURCHASEThe TV Series ended abruptly and I hate when a loop is not closed. Here is the next episode in the series and and maybe a little beyond.
Book 5½ in the Archive Series
Benjamin Jensen is silently leading the training for his replacement, the Director of Archive Island. This is something all Directors do when they find that singular, right, person. Does she know what is happening? More importantly, will she survive the training? Benjamin has a special role in store for Allison Guntersdottir; she knows he is up to something, but she is tolerating what he is doing to her in exchange for a seemingly endless career opportunity and direction. Benjamin is ticking off the boxes as she completes a task, and she has no idea why he seems to be interfering with her. Her dedication and ability speak for themselves; she is as good, if not better, than her Director, Benjamin Jensen, and is determined to make sure he knows it as well. Join members of the Island Complex as we explore the relationships and training of those who have dedicated their lives to history. PURCHASEWelcome to Amateur Radio! PURCHASESeriously, the hardest thing for someone to teach a new Scout when cooking is a stove, or the fire, or on charcoal for that matter is that there are a lot more levels of heat than OFF and MAX. Cooking over low or medium heat is better and safer for the meal in some respects than cooking on a blast furnace. It saves propane too! Plan for the extra time, you will be rewarded when you eat. Don’t get me wrong, there are times that a blazing hot surface is what is needed; the steak to get that perfect seer for example. So pick this up and bring it to your next troop meeting. Let the Scouts look it over and see if there is anything they would like to try out for the first time. You, AND THEY, will be surprised as to how easy and how good some of these recipes really are, especially in the woods!!
