The series ended prematurely, I had a problem with that so I fixed it by writing the next episode that spans many years in the life of the colony. Marriage, birth, death, friends become enemies and enemies become friends.

A thru-hike is a very long-distance hike. For example, the Appalachian Trail runs from Georgia to Maine to the tune of about 2,100 miles. Starting at one end and walking to the other is called a Thru-Hike. So, doesn’t it make sense to use hikers to perform a planetary survey on a new planet? The hikers can survey, inspect, learn, and report what they find — contracted for one planetary year. They experience something new, something extraordinary. The result is an insight into this new world and the ability to quickly create a viable colony while allowing the planet to flourish. While hiking, some of the contracted hikers develop new skills, and these advanced or enhanced, humans become a part of this new world, and the world has become a part of them. They have a connection to the planet, the creatures. It is not this group who needs to be watched, but it is their children, for they are the future of humanity.

Benjamin Jensen is silently leading the training for his replacement, the Director of Archive Island. This is something all Directors do when they find that singular, right, person. Does she know what is happening? More importantly, will she survive the training? Benjamin has a special role in store for Allison Guntersdottir; she knows he is up to something, but she is tolerating what he is doing to her in exchange for a seemingly endless career opportunity and direction. Benjamin is ticking off the boxes as she completes a task, and she has no idea why he seems to be interfering with her. Her dedication and ability speak for themselves; she is as good, if not better, than her Director, Benjamin Jensen, and is determined to make sure he knows it as well. Join members of the Island Complex as we explore the relationships and training of those who have dedicated their lives to history. PURCHASE
The TV Series ended abruptly and I hate when a loop is not closed. Here is the next episode in the series and and maybe a little beyond.
Book 6 of the Archive Series. Benjamin Jensen is still the Director of the Island Complex. It has been a bit more than 30 years. With the unexpected death of someone close, the Island is turned on its ear. Recalling several people close, the memorial service is brief but the grieving is deep.
